Five Syrian men have been arrested after a teenage girl was gang-raped by attackers who threatened her with a taser in Germany.
The alleged attack took place on Sunday evening, prompting a large police operation involving a special task force (SEK) in Heinsberg, North Rhine-Westphalia, according to Senior Public Prosecutor Katja Schlenkermann-Pitts.
Investigators believe the girl was persuaded to meet her ex-boyfriend, who arranged to pick her up.
However, when she entered his car, three other men reportedly entered as well.
According to Bild, the girl was taken to an apartment where the group allegedly carried out the assault.
Two additional men are also said to have been involved in the attack. Police say he did not participate in the alleged rape.
After the attack, the victim is said to have confided in a friend, whose parents then alerted the authorities. A heavily armed SEK unit raided the property soon after.
The special forces were reportedly deployed because the suspects had allegedly threatened the teenager with a Taser before the assault.
