Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil, 64, reveals he suffered a stroke in his sleep… after
Motley Crue frontman Vince Neil revealed that he suffered a stroke in his sleep late last year.
The 64-year-old Home Sweet Home singer – who recently sparked concerns over his health last month – opened up about the health scare during an interview with the Las Vegas Review-Journal published on Friday.
He shared that he suffered the stroke on Christmas before adding that his ‘whole left side went out.’
Earlier this year in March, the rock band postponed their Las Vegas residency due to Neil needing to undergo a ‘medical procedure.’
‘I had to learn to walk again, and that was tough,’ the star explained to the outlet, and expressed doctors had voiced worry he may not be able to perform again.
‘The doctors said they didn’t think I’d be able to go back on stage again. I go, “No, no, I’m gonna do it. Watch and see.”‘

Neil explained that the rock band ‘canceled the first part of the (residency) so I could get better.’
The singer gave insight into the lengthy recovery process following his stroke and undergoing months of physical therapy.
‘I went from people carrying me to the bathroom, because I couldn’t walk myself, finally to a wheelchair.’
He continued, ‘I graduated to a walker, and then I had a cane. Now I don’t need anything. But it’s like a full-time job getting back to where you feel good again.’
Neil’s recovery took place at his Nashville home and also received help from a football coach based in the city as well.
While Neil admitted that the months following the stroke were ‘tough,’ he positively added that ‘I’m back, I’m 90-, 95-percent to where I was before, and it’s going to be great.’
Back in March, the legendary rock group notably canceled their Las Vegas residency only weeks before taking to the stage for a number of shows.
The band had originally been slated to perform at Park MGM beginning on March 28 through April 19.

Instead, the shows were postponed to later this year and began on Friday, September 12 and will conclude on October 3.
Neil released a statement at the time which read: ‘To all the Crüeheads who were looking forward to see us this Spring.
‘I’m truly sorry. My health is my top priority so I can bring you the awesome shows you deserve, and I can’t wait to return to the stage.’
The star concluded with, ‘Thank you for all the well wishes that keep reaching me. Your support means more than you know.’
The rock band later shared a joint message as well and told fans, ‘Please join us in wishing Vince a speedy recovery.
‘We are looking forward for him to get well again and to take over Vegas together in September.’
The announcement also came one month after Neil’s private jet crashed into another plane when it veered off the runway in Scottsdale, Arizona.
His then-girlfriend Rain Hannah had been hospitalized following the incident, while the pilot tragically passed away.

The rock band confirmed the deadly incident in a statement which read: ‘Earlier today, a private plane owned by Vince Neil was involved in a crash near Scottsdale, AZ.
‘The pilot was tragically killed; the co-pilot and other passengers were taken to local hospitals.’
The group added, ‘Vince was not on the plane. Vince’s girlfriend and her friend suffered injuries, albeit not life-threatening.
‘While details are still emerging, our hearts go out to the families about the pilot who lost his life in the passengers who suffered injuries. Mötley Crüe will announce a way to help support the family of the deceased pilot – stand by for an announcement very soon.’
