Beverly Hills, 90210 star Gabrielle Carteris, 64, makes rare sighting while Christmas
Gabrielle Carteris of Beverly Hills, 90210 fame made a rare sighting this week.
The actress – who turns 65-years-old on January 2 – appeared to be in good spirits as she enjoyed Christmas shopping in Los Angeles on Wednesday.
Carteris was dressed down in track pants and trainers paired with a cozy green sweater with just a touch of jewelry to complement her look.
Oddly, her canvas bag appeared to have her former co-star Shannen Doherty’s name on it. Doherty died from cancer in 2024.
Carteris is best known for playing Andrea Zuckerman in the Aaron Spelling-produced series. The character was the smart but socially awkward editor of the school paper West Beverly Blaze.
Carteris starred in the show’s first five seasons and returned as guest star in seasons six, eight and 10.
She also participated in the BH90210 reboot in 2019, reuniting with her old co-stars including Tori Spelling, Jennie Garth and Doherty plus Jason Priestley, Brian Austin Green and Ian Ziering.

Fellow cast member Luke Perry tragically died on March 4, 2029 after signing on to do the show.
Looking back to her earlier days on the wildly popular show, Carteris told People how she fibbed about her age to snag the role of 16-year-old Andrea. She told producers she was 21 when she was really 29.
‘When I got the role, a lawyer told me I could sign a contract and state a different age, as long as it was over the age of 21,’ she told the publication in 2019.
‘When [my real age] did come out, the show was just starting to take off and my character was established enough that they did not fire me. But a producer did say to me, “You’re lucky we didn’t know your age when we hired you.”‘
Carteris also recalled that the stars’ real lives were often incorporated into the storyline. When she had bunion surgery and had to use a wheelchair during recovery, the writers had Andrea in a serious car accident.
And when Carteris got pregnant – she was, by that time, married to Charles Isaacs – her teenage character also got pregnant.
‘Before I got pregnant with my first child, I went to Aaron [Spelling] and said, “My husband, Charlie, and I would like to start a family, and I’d like for you to write it in that Andrea gets pregnant because I don’t want to hide my pregnancy. I want my baby to know I was proud and share it with the world,”‘ the actress-turned-activist recalled.
‘Aaron was so shocked, but he said, “Yes, we’ll do it.” So, Andrea was full-blown pregnant.’

The couple, pictured in 2019 in Culver City, California, are still going strong after 33 years of marriage and two kids, daughter Kelsey, 31, and son Chase, 28
That didn’t sit well with some people and there was some backlash.
‘Somebody wrote an article about, “How dare Andrea get pregnant? It’s high school, she’s supposed to be a smart girl,”‘ Carteris remembered.
‘I responded back in an editorial, “You know, smart people make mistakes. Smart people make decisions about the choices they make in their lives, and this is real life.”‘
At 90s Con 2024, Carteris admitted that she didn’t want to do CW’s 90210 reboot, according to People. That version lasted from 2008 to 2013 and starred Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling and Shannen Doherty.
‘I never wanted to [do it]. I was so shocked they were doing a new show. I was like, is it like, they long so much you’re just going to try to reinvent it over and over?’ she said.
However, most of the original main cast members reunited in 2019 for another revival, Fox’s BH90210, in which they played fictionalized versions of themselves as they try to get a reboot of 90210 made.
Carteris said: ‘It felt full circle, to be together as adults, having had our children, being able to work together. I thought it was probably one of those most impactful moments of my life.’
Speaking about the impact of the original show, she said, ‘’Instead of milk and cookies and kids are just good and should be listened to, they are real stories – and people want to be seen. People wanted to be heard.’
Addressing the audience at the nostaligic, pop-culture convention, Carteris added, ‘I’ve been very touched by those of you who come up to talk to me, when you talk about how it connected with you and who you were, that is the biggest tribute you can give. It’s moving every time.’
