Trump again promises $5k checks for every American but says they can’t go on vacation…

Donald Trump once again promised $5,000 to every adult American during his Alaska visit to boost incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan’s re-election bid – but provided one caveat.

During his Tuesday night speech, Trump said he is ‘going to give all adult citizens in the United States $5,000’ if the Republicans hold both chambers of Congress in November.

‘You gotta spend it in the United States of America,’ the president added. ‘I don’t want you going to China.’

The president made the same promise at previous events like the Republican Midterm Convention in Dallas in early September, calling it the ‘Trump Dividend.’

The unprecedented plan surprised some of Trump’s most devout supporters.

Palantir co-founder and GOP donor Joe Lonsdale reacted to the Dallas announcement by saying: ‘For the record, I am hugely in favor of winning the midterms, and love much about this admin, but am strongly against bread and circus bribes.’

Previous such promises made by the president during his second term have never materialized, although Trump kept word on his ‘warrior dividend,’ paying out $1,776 to 1.4 million military officials in December 2025.

Earlier in the evening, Trump’s speech to Alaskans was interrupted by a heckler, who was quickly removed by security.

The president could not withhold his schadenfreude, praising the ‘good law enforcement’ and saying: ‘They just knocked the hell out of him.’

Trump then repeated a zinger he’s often told of protesters at rallies, that the heckler’s ‘mother and father voted for me,’ to huge applause. He made the same joke when multiple protesters were manhandled by police at his Ohio rally on Monday night.

Democrat and Alaska Native Mary Peltola has proven tough competition for the re-election bid of incumbent Senator Dan Sullivan. At his Alaska rally, Trump described her as a 'nut job'

Later in the evening, the president also had harsh words for Sullivan’s challenger for the Senate seat, Democrat congresswoman Mary Peltola.

Trump described the Alaska Native as a ‘nut job,’ whom he accused of earning the nickname ‘No-Show Mary’ for allegedly not appearing at meetings in DC.

The president also urged voters to ‘pretend I’m on the ballot’ as his visit 50 miles north of Anchorage was intended to boost Sullivan, who is fending off an aggressive challenge from Peltola.

Democrats have not held a Senate seat in Alaska in nearly 12 years, but the presidential visit confirms that Sullivan’s seat is very much in play.

Last week JD Vance was in the state to warn that Democrats would ‘do whatever they need to do, right up to cheating,’ to win the midterms.

The Cook Report ranks the state as a toss-up but some polls have Peltola carving out a small lead over the two-term incumbent.

Peltola announced earlier Tuesday that her campaign raised $17 million in the third quarter, a record for third quarter donations raised by an Alaskan US Senate candidate.

In 2022, she became the first Indigenous person from the state to be elected to Congress.

Ahead of the presidential visit, Peltola’s press secretary Caroline Etgen told the Daily Mail that the Democrat is offering Trump the olive branch.

Should politicians offer cash promises to win votes or focus on long-term solutions for Americans?

‘She looks forward to working with President Trump to unleash Alaska energy and lower costs for when she’s elected,’ Etgen said.

‘It doesn’t matter who flies in to try and save Dan Sullivan from his abhorrent record, Alaskans will still hold him accountable for his price-hiking agenda this November.’

Peltola’s team further emphasized that she is ‘one of the most independent Democrats in Congress, regularly standing up to her own party’ and ‘working with Republicans to pass pro-energy legislation.’

Peltola was the only Democrat to join the ‘pro-fossil fuel’ Congressional Western Caucus in Congress, Politico reported. The Alaska Native also owns 176 long guns and is a strong second amendment advocate.

The current Senate race has seen rising living costs, diesel and fuel prices exacerbated by the Iran war, and fisheries as top issues for Alaskan voters.

Alaska gas prices have hit an average of $5.02, compared to $3.87 one year ago.

The Tuesday rally marked the president’s first official visit during his current term, aside from a summit with Vladimir Putin last August. He has made only three trips to the Last Frontier overall.

In September, Trump announced $54 billion South Korean investment to construct a new natural gas pipeline in Alaska. After the announcement, a South Korean official said the move ‘had not been finalized.’

On Tuesday night, he also announced that Taiwan committed to buying 30 percent of Alaska’s new liquified natural gas pipeline ‘for the next 20 years.’ Other terms of the deal remained unclear while he insisted the investment ‘guarantees success.’

Trump plans to visit Arizona and Montana on Wednesday.
