Zendaya and Tom Holland leave Mayfair private members’ club arm-in-arm after partying

Newlyweds Zendaya and Tom Holland celebrated their movie The Odyssey with a late night at Oswald’s private members’ club in London on Monday.

After premiering Christopher Nolan’s ‘triumphant’ new epic at the Odeon Luxe in Leicester Square earlier in the evening, the star-studded cast headed across town to Mayfair to party in style.

Zendaya and Tom, who last month finally confirmed they are married, were in great spirits as they left the bash arm-in-arm – with the actress, 29, looking incredible in an olive draped gown by Valentino.

The dress, Zendaya’s second look of the night, featured a bust made of green vines whilst the star continued the on-theme styling by plaiting her hair into a Grecian rope braid as a nod to her character, Athena.

She finished the look with Christian Louboutin shoes, and Chopard jewellery, with her makeup still looking flawless despite spending a long evening in the London heatwave.

A beaming Zendaya gripped Tom’s arm as they made their way out of the party, with the actor looking suave in a chocolate brown suit.

Earlier in the evening Zendaya wowed in another major fashion moment when she wore a Schiaparelli dress with a breastplate bodice to walk the vast red carpet at Leicester Square.

The couture gown from Daniel Roseberry’s fall/winter 2026 show had debuted just hours before the premiere at Paris Couture Week, with the star’s stylist Law Roach flying it into London by private jet.

The actress’ longtime stylist told French creator Elias Medini, known as Lyas, that he had travelled to Paris to collect the Schiaparelli gown straight off the runway.

‘You chose, this look for a premiere tonight,’ Medini said in a clip he shared on Instagram on Monday, panning the camera to the dress on a model standing nearby.

‘Yes, I flew in last night to come to the show; I have a private jet waiting for me,’ Law replied laughing.

‘And for her?’ the creator asked, pointing to the model. ‘And for her, to get that dress off of her, to get it to London to put it on a very special girl.’

Zendaya plays Athena, the Greek goddess of wisdom, warfare and handicraft in Christopher Nolan’s epic film.

Her character serves as the divine protector and guide for Odysseus (Matt Damon) during his arduous journey home from the Trojan War.

Tom plays Telemachus – Odysseus’s son and the prince of Ithaca.

Pregnant leading lady Anne Hathaway, who plays Penelope in the movie, dazzled in a strapless blue gown at the premiere which showed off her blossoming bump.

The entire cast were present at the event including Lupita Nyong’o, Benny Safdie, John Leguizamo, Matt Damon and his wife, Robert Pattinson, Himesh Patel, director Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas.

The  film is an adaptation of Homer’s ancient Greek epic the Odyssey, which sees the titular Greek King embark on a perilous journey home after the Trojan War in a bid to reunite with his beloved wife Penelope.

Despite the film being in the trusted hands of Oscar-winning director Nolan, fans haven’t quite got to grips with the casting yet.

In what has been dubbed his ‘most extreme project to date’ alongside an incredibly starry cast – the pressure for Nolan to win over critics is like no other.

Already known for his impressive art and high-budget fare, Nolan’s latest film could prove to be his most ambitious yet, with the $250million budget the most expensive of his career, his first shot entirely on IMAX 70mm cameras.

The film has received heaps of attention for all the wrong reasons – sparking backlash over its ‘bizarre’ casting, being accused of fuelling ‘brutal repression’ and sending Elon Musk into meltdown.

Nolan recently defended his decision to cast Kenyan actress Nyong’o in the movie after Musk called the casting ‘historically inaccurate.’

Lupita, 43, is set to play Helen of Troy’s sister Clytemnestra, and was named People Magazine’s ‘Most Beautiful Woman’ in 2014 following her triumphant Best Supporting Actress Oscar win for 12 Years A Slave.

Nolan defended his castings, saying: ‘Hopefully they’ll enjoy the film, even if they don’t agree with everything. The oldest depictions of Homeric characters tend to be depicted in the manner of people living in Homer’s time…

‘So there’s a pretty strong case there for portraying things that way because that’s the way the first audience received the story.’

The film was met with huge praise in critics’ first reactions after the global premiere.

Universal Studios opted to skip the previews it typically holds for influencers, meaning the majority of the initial reactions on social media come from members of the press invited to the gala premiere in Leicester Square.

Introducing the movie on Monday night, British filmmaker Nolan told the audience that holding the global premiere in London was ‘a full circle moment’ after growing up ‘coming to see movies in Leicester Square’ and ‘dreaming of one day making a movie that would fill this screen.’

He then issued a lighthearted warning to the crowd of critics, pointing out: ‘You are the first in the world to see this film so be kind’

Collider’s Steven Weintraub led the effervescent posts, declaring the movie ‘INCREDIBLE’ and writing ‘I’m really blown away by this film’.

‘Everything from the flawless performances to the way Nolan embraces the supernatural is just perfect. If you can, SEE IT IN @IMAX 70mm. It’s a jaw dropping experience.’

The Hollywood Reporter’s Aaron Couch singled out Nolan’s surprising twist to horror, writing that he had ‘been seeing his movies in theaters since Memento, and after 25 years, The Odyssey gives us a first: a fleshed out horror sequence directed by Christopher Nolan.’

Los Angeles Times film editor Joshua Rothkopf gushed: ‘THE ODYSSEY is staggering. Earthy, ghostly, weighty, touched by humor and grandeur alike.’

‘It’s pure cinema. Obviously the story is about returning home, but in a larger sense, this is also a return home to the robustly entertaining action movies that cinema was invented to tell.’

Rothkopf also singled out Samantha Morton’s performance as Circe, the goddess of Aeaea. ‘People are not ready for how much Samantha Morton owns THE ODYSSEY — her scenes are simply incredible, witchy and wonderful,’ he wrote.

Morton reportedly received a standing ovation from the cast and crew on set after one pivotal scene, with a producer revealing of Nolan’s reaction ‘that’s something we hadn’t seen since Heath Ledger on The Dark Knight.’

Indiewire’s Anne Thompson meanwhile predicted that Matt Damon could be in line for an Oscar whilst the film in general will be the one to beat in the 2027 awards season.

‘My high expectations were met at Chris Nolan’s stunningly mounted The Odyssey in IMAX 70 mm. Matt Damon could win Best Actor and a bevy of supporting thesps and noms will follow. The BP to beat.’ Thompson posted on X.

The Odyssey arrives in cinemas on July 17.
