Charlie Woods suffers another setback as nightmare string of amateur results continues
Charlie Woods, the son of golf legend Tiger Woods, suffered another setback in his amateur golf career this week.
The 17-year-old missed the cut at this week’s North & South Men’s Amateur at Pinehurst No. 2 and No. 4 in North Carolina.
After hovering near the cut line for a majority of the second round on Wednesday, Woods finished at 7-over par across 36 holes on the two famed courses.
He sat one shot outside the projected cut line with four holes to go in his second round.
However, he finished his day with two bogeys, a triple bogey and then one more bogey to drop six shots and missing out on match play.
The cut line saw the top 31 golfers advance to said match play competition beginning on Thursday.

It’s yet another poor amateur result for the son of golf icon Tiger Woods this year
Woods, who is set to play golf at Florida State as part of their class of 2027, is a rising senior at The Benjamin School this year.
But as of late, he’s struggled to put together strong results on the amateur circuits.
In May, Woods ended up finishing 28th at the Team TaylorMade Invitational – an event that he had won the prior year.
He shot three over in the final round to finish 17 shots back of the eventual winner.
In April, during his first outing back since his father’s DUI arrest, Woods fell to 57th on the leaderboard – out of 72 – after he shot 79 and 71 in rounds one and two, leaving him six over.
