UFO files reveal jaw-dropping claim of a secret flying saucer capable of reaching
A trove of declassified FBI documents has suggested that the Nazi secretly developed saucer-shaped aircraft capable of hovering motionless in the air.
The bombshell documents, released Friday as part of the Trump administration’s UFO disclosure initiative, detailed interviews with a man identified as Paul L Peyrer, who stated he worked around a top-secret German weapons project involving disk-shaped flying craft.
According to the files, Peyerl told the FBI he observed a ‘saucer-shaped vehicle approximately 50 feet in diameter with a dome above’ while assigned to a classified project in the Black Forest region of Germany in 1943 – two years before the Second World War ended.
The newly released memo stated the object was ‘radio-controlled’ and equipped with multiple jet engines mounted around the exterior of the craft.
Peyerl allegedly claimed the aircraft could ‘rise vertically, maneuver sideways and hover motionless in the air’ before reaching reported speeds of 1,500mph and altitudes of 40,000 feet.
‘According to Peyerl, the object was designed and engineered by scientists working for Germany during World War II,’ the FBI report stated.
The files further claimed the saucer-like craft was part of a secret Nazi weapons program developed to attack Allied forces near the end of the conflict.
The startling allegations were among hundreds of newly released records, photographs and videos uploaded Friday to the Department of War’s website under President Donald Trump’s long-awaited UFO transparency order.
The extraordinary claims immediately reignited long-running conspiracy theories linking UFO sightings to alleged secret Nazi technology developed during World War II
The documents detailed interviews with a man identified as Paul L Peyerl, who stated he worked around a top-secret German weapons project involving disk-shaped flying craft
The documents were dated June 8, 1967, and originated from the FBI’s Miami field office, which forwarded Peyerl’s claims to FBI headquarters in Washington for review.
One internal memo described Peyerlas appearing ‘genuinely concerned about the existence of vehicles of allegedly Nazi origin operated since November 1944.’
The report noted that the FBI decided to forward the information to the US Air Force because of increasing public interest surrounding UFO sightings during the 1960s.
According to the files, Peyerl first approached the FBI in 1957 after attempting to contact the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) regarding his alleged knowledge of the mysterious aircraft.
The newly released records stated that Peyerl graduated from the German Luftwaffe Officer Training School in Vienna during the Second World War before allegedly becoming connected to the secret aviation program.
In one of the most detailed descriptions contained in the files, Peyerl told investigators the craft contained ‘one central, vertical jet engine and six jet engines mounted around the outer perimeter of the craft.’
He also claimed the outer portion of the object rotated around the central dome while other sections remained stationary.
According to the FBI report, Peyerl said the aircraft was capable of extraordinary maneuvers that resembled many modern UFO sightings reported decades later.
According to the files, Peyerl told the FBI he observed a ‘saucer-shaped vehicle approximately 50 feet in diameter with a dome above’ while assigned to a classified project in the Black Forest region of Germany in 1943 – two years before the Second World War ended
Peyerl allegedly claimed the aircraft could ‘rise vertically, maneuver sideways and hover motionless in the air’ before reaching reported speeds of 1,500mph and altitudes of 40,000 feet
The files state he claimed the craft could hover silently before rapidly accelerating and changing direction mid-flight.
Peyerl further alleged that he personally piloted one of the strange objects during the war before being shot down by British forces over France on January 10, 1945.
The documents also noted he was later imprisoned by the British before eventually immigrating to the United States after the war.
The files stopped short of confirming any of Peyerl’s claims and repeatedly framed the information as allegations provided voluntarily to investigators.
One section of the memo specifically stated the FBI documents contained ‘neither recommendations nor conclusions of the FBI.’
Regardless, the extraordinary claims immediately reignited long-running conspiracy theories linking UFO sightings to alleged secret Nazi technology developed during the Second World War.

For decades, some UFO researchers have speculated that advanced German aviation projects may have inspired early postwar flying saucer reports, although historians and military experts have repeatedly challenged those theories due to a lack of verified evidence.
The FBI files do not provide photographs, engineering documents or physical proof confirming Peyerl’s allegations.
However, the release has already triggered intense reaction online, with UFO researchers pointing to the documents as evidence that the federal government quietly tracked bizarre claims involving advanced disk-shaped aircraft for decades.
Friday’s disclosure marked the first major wave of records released under Trump’s February executive order directing Secretary of War Pete Hegseth and federal agencies to declassify files tied to UFOs, Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena and alleged extraterrestrial encounters.
Hundreds of records were published through the Department of War’s disclosure portal, including NASA mission transcripts, infrared military footage, FBI memos and military incident reports involving unexplained aerial sightings.
While UFO transparency advocates hailed the Nazi saucer files as one of the most bizarre revelations released so far, skeptics cautioned that the documents largely reflected unverified witness statements rather than independently confirmed evidence.
Government officials have also repeatedly warned that the release of historical UFO files should not be interpreted as confirmation of extraterrestrial life or advanced non-human technology.
