Hulk Hogan press conference reveals grim details on the pro wrestler’s death: Live

Clearwater Police Major Nate Burnside gave a brief press conference on the passing of Hulk Hogan on Thursday.

‘Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was experiencing a serious medical-related issue,’ Burnside said.

‘Personnel provided medical treatment at that time and transported Mr. Bollea to Morton Plant Hospital, where he died at 11.17am.

‘The Clear Police Department is conducting a death investigation which is standard in these types of cases. There are no signs of foul play or suspicious activity related to this call for service at this time.’

Hulk Hogan’s former friend, Bubba the Love Sponge, said he is ‘saddened’ he won’t have the opportunity to apologize to the wrestler after his passing.

‘I’m saddened that I will never be able to tell him how sorry I am for the way I handled things that created the rift between us. I miss my friend and hope he rests in peace,’ he told TMZ.

‘I’m heartbroken to hear of Terry’s passing. As everyone knows, we had our issues, and those issues were mostly my fault. I loved him as a friend while he was with us, and will continue to love his memory as a friend going forward.’

Bubba was at the center of Hogan’s sex tape scandal in 2012.

Hogan was caught in three sex tapes with Heather Cole, Bubba’s wife. The WWE star ended up suing his friend for releasing the recordings.

They ended up settling for just $5,000 and an on-air apology, but their friendship was never the same.

Linda McMahon, the US Secretary of Education and WWE co-founder, remembered star Hulk Hogan in a social media tribute.

‘I had the privilege of knowing and working with @HulkHogan for over 40 years,’ she said.

‘Hulk was a dear friend and member of our WWE family. His legacy in and out of the ring will always be remembered. He was one of a kind!

‘My thoughts and prayers are with his family, his friends, and all of his fans.’

WWE co-founder Vince McMahon posted on X honoring wrestling legend Hulk Hogan.

‘The world lost a treasure today. Hulk Hogan was the greatest WWE Superstar of ALL TIME, someone who was loved and admired around the world,’ McMahon said.

‘He was a trailblazer, the first performer who transitioned from being a wrestling star into a global phenomenon.

‘His grit and unbridled thirst for success were unparalleled – and made him the consummate performer. He gave everything he had to the audience whom he appreciated, respected and loved.’

Hulk Hogan once said British fans were the ‘craziest in Europe’ and ‘even more intense than fans in the US.’

His thoughts come from an interview the wrestling legend did in 2015 – in a 60 seconds interview ahead of a tour of the UK.

A representative for Hulk Hogan released a statement on his Instagram account confirming the wrestler’s passing.

‘It is with a heavy heart and deep sadness that we confirm we have lost a legend. Our beloved Terry Bollea, known worldwide as Hulk Hogan, passed away today surrounded by his loved ones,’ the post said.

‘At this time of grief, we ask that everyone please respect the privacy of his family and friends.

‘May we all take solace in the wonderful memories he left behind for the millions of fans worldwide whose lives he touched for more than four decades. He will be missed, but never forgotten.’

‘It was easy to do a Hulkster impersonation when, like millions of guys my age, I’d practiced it in the mirror a thousand times growing up.’

Troves of tributes from Hulk Hogan’s colleagues and fellow WWE stars have flooded social media after the news his sudden passing broke on Thursday.

She went on to explain Hogan’s health battles.

‘He’s been recovering from a major four-level Anterior Cervical Discectomy and Fusin (ACDF), which is an intense surgery with a long and layered healing process,’ she wrote.

‘If you look it up, you’ll see what the last six weeks have involved… not just for his spine, but also for his vocal cords, and the eating/breathing tubes that are clamped over during surgery.

‘We’ve been in an out of the hospital to support that recovery. So truly, there’s no need for the drama or panic some people try to stir up. He’s healing and we’re taking it one day at a time with love, strength, and patience.’

‘We lost a great friend today, the “Hulkster,” Trump wrote on social media on Wednesday afternoon. ‘Hulk Hogan was MAGA all the way — Strong, tough, smart, but with the biggest heart.’

‘He entertained fans from all over the World, and the cultural impact he had was massive,’ Trump wrote, praising his ‘absolutely electric speech’ from the Republican 2024 National Convention.

Nick shared an adorable photo of himself as a child wearing matching outfits with his dad.

Fellow WWE legend Jake The Snake shared a tribute to Hulk Hogan.

‘It’s hard to put into words what Terry “Hulk Hogan” Bollea meant to professional wrestling and entertainment,’ he said on X.

‘He may be gone, but his memory and legacy will live forever. RIP Hulkster.’

Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth posted a photo of Hulk Hogan waving the American flag after his death.

Sylvester Stallone shared a tribute to his Rocky III co-star Hulk Hogan after his death on Thursday.

Radio personality Bubba the Love Sponge and his co-host Lummy claimed that Hogan was in such bad health that he ‘might not make it’ and his family had been called in to say their goodbyes.

‘Hogan’s not doing well. He can’t speak. His trachea or whatever was damaged, and he’s having problems, and it does not look good. It does not look at all,’ Lummy said.

However, at the time, the Daily Mail reported that he was only in the hospital to address health problems he’s struggled with for years.

WWE icon Hulk Hogan died early Thursday morning after medics were dispatched to his Clearwater, Florida home, per TMZ.

Operators stated they were called to the wrestling legend’s home regarding a cardiac arrest.
