However, there are some lighter moments to catch up on.

Australia wicketkeeper Alex Carey has been offering his thoughts to TNT Sports, offering praise for Nathan Lyon’s performance.

Carey stresses that Australia still have work to do to wrap up victory tomorrow.

We’ll reflect on today and come up with plans for tomorrow, we know these guys are quality players right to the end. We want to keep working hard and probably not look too far ahead,’ Carey said.

I just thought Nathan [Lyon] was bowling really well and kept putting lots of energy on the ball. He toiled away all day and finally got some reward. I just wanted him to bowl with as much energy as possible, there’s enough out there and he got a couple of late wickets.

I always want to contribute to help this team win games of cricket. I understand there’s still a lot of work to do tomorrow morning.

So far so good, but personally I don’t like to look too far ahead, maybe reflect, jump in the pool tonight, get home to the kids and then come back tomorrow and really look forward to it. The boys are bowling really great areas, we know it’ll be hard work again.

Pat Cummins and Nathan Lyon have put Australia on the verge of retaining the Ashes after 11 days, with the pair both claiming three wickets.
